50049 Defiance attended the October 2007 diesel gala at the Severn Valley Railway. The original plans for the 2007 gala were thrown into disarray when storms swept away sections of the line between Northwood and Bridgnorth in the preceding June. A much smaller event was re-scheduled to help raise additional funds for the flood damage appeal with services running between Kidderminster and Bewdley.
