50008 Thunderer at different stages during the The Jolly Vacman tour run for The Branch Line Society by Hanson and Hall Rail Services Solutions.
The locomotive worked in a top-'n'-tail formation with locomotive 37418 An Comuun Gaidhealach. 50008 started the tour from Derby and took it only as far as Boston due to late running. 37418 then reversed the consist up to Lincoln and East Holmes Junction. From here 50008 took the formation via Spalding to Peterborough. 37418 then took the tour forward to reach Skegness, final destination. The tour departed Skegness behind 50008 and proceeded via Lincoln and Newark to Grantham. 37418 then hauled the final leg of the tour back to Derby via Nottingham.
Total distance covered by 50008 was 214 miles for the one-day trip.
