Defiance at different stages during The Cumbrian Hoovers tour run by
Pathfinder Tours.
The tour started at Tame Bridge Parkway and travelled north via York and over the Hadrian's Wall line to Carlisle. It then returned to Tame Bridge Parkway via the scenic Settle-Carlisle line and Doncaster, a total of 531 miles for the one-day trip.
For their outward journey the locomotives took an unusual route via Hartlepool and Sunderland, believed to be a very rare occurrence, before joining the Hadrian's Wall line south of Newcastle.
