50007
Hercules and 50049
Defiance at different stages during The Galloway Fifties tour run by
Pathfinder Tours, a total of 725 miles for the one-day trip. Research suggests that this was the first time that a member of the class had worked to the end of the line.
The tour started at Tame Bridge Parkway and travelled to Stranraer using the West Coast Mainline (WCML) via Dumfries and Ayr. Upon arrival at Falkland Down Goods Loop 50007 was run-around and re-coupled for the top-'n'-tail working that was required. The tour then proceeded to its final destination of Stranraer. Locomotive 50049 hauled the consist back to Ayr whereupon 50007 was run-around and re-coupled for the return leg of the tour.
