2006 The Redmire Rambler

50031 Hood and 50049 Defiance at different stages during The Redmire Rambler tour run by Pathfinder Tours. The locomotives worked from Cardiff to Redmire and the return, a total of over 592 miles for the one-day trip.

The first destination was York, where upon arrival 50049 was run around and re-coupled for the top-'n'-tail working that was required on the later stages. The tour then proceeded to its final destination. Redmire itself is situated at the end of a 22-mile branch line which wends its way through the Yorkshire Dales and is run locally by the Wensleydale Railway.
