50031 Hood and 50049 Defiance at different stages during The Airean Raider tour run by Pathfinder Tours. The locomotives worked from Cardiff to Leeds via Hellifield and the return, a total of 628 miles for the one-day trip.

The tour carried people wishing to visit the Grassington Dickensian Christmas Festival, attend the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway or those wanting to go Christmas shopping in Leeds. A milestone in Class 50 preservation was reached on this day as it was exactly 15 years since both 50031 and 50049 entered into private ownership having been sold by British Rail.
