To mark the 50th anniversary of the British Rail Class 55 Deltics’ introduction onto the East Coast Main Line (ECML), The National Railway Museum at Shildon along with The Deltic Preservation Society celebrated with a special event. For the first time ever, all six surviving production Deltics along with the prototype locomotive DP1 DELTIC were brought together in one place.

The seven locomotives participating in the event were: DP1 DELTIC, 55002 The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, 55009 Alycidon, 55015 Tulyar, 55016 Gordon Highlander, 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier and 55022 Royal Scots Grey.
