50007 Hercules and 50049 Defiance at different stages during The Christmas White Rose tour run by Pathfinder Tours.

The tour started at Cardiff behind locomotive 66751 for the first leg to Gloucester. Upon arrival, this was replaced by the two Class 50s which worked the tour forward from Gloucester to Newcastle and the return. From Gloucester they were again replaced by 66751, a total of 647 miles for the one-day trip.

The tour experienced a number of diversions during the day due to problems with overhead line equipment (OLE) along the route. On the outward leg the tour was diverted via Wakefield and Leeds. On the return, the tour was routed through Birmingham via Sutton Park and Camp Hill.
