50031 Hood and 50049 Defiance working for Arriva Trains Wales provided the motive power for shuttle services between Newport and Bridgend in support of a Six Nations rugby match held in Cardiff. This was the inaugural service train Class Fifty Operations Limited ran in 2006 with Arriva Train Wales, the two locomotives operating in a top-'n'-tail formation.
