50031 Hood attended the October 2012 diesel gala at the Severn Valley Railway. 50035 Ark Royal was also on display, although static in a bay platform at Kidderminster due to a serious electrical issue experienced during the year.

Two Deltics, 55002 The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and 55009 Alycidon also attended the gala. This was the first time since 2002 that this class had visited a gala at the railway.
